Were the results of our last three outings before XMAS... so I decided to take a lil break.
But today, on the last FULL DAY of the YEAR... I will bet a few games that I like in hopes to get us off the SCHNIDE!!!
NEBRASKA -2.5 ** V ARIZONA (BOWL GAME)
Tonight I think Nebraska's Defense will come out and defeat Arizona in a close game. This is not the greatest Nebraska team I have ever seen, but I will say that they play with a lot of confidence and I think this PAC 10 Arizona Team is going to get in a lot of trouble.

Atlanta is an athletic team which can run the floor, look for them to take it to the Cavs in a very important EAST COAST SHOWDOWN.
I like atlanta's cohesiveness as of late and I believe they will make a good push before the All Star Break.

TONIGHT the suns will put the smack down on a tired and injured celtics team . The c's finally hit that mid season skid I was predicting although holding together very well without pierce so far, I think their lack of depth and tonight, lack of quickness in the Frontcourt will do them in .
The suns need to beat a top tier team and lost their first home game since last season to the CAVS which I do not believe they wish to repeat twice in a two week span.
Look for the celtics to be out scored plain and simple.

Today's NBA and NFL
in the first of today's Christmas showdowns we have the Orlando Magic, the Number two team in the EAST vs The Boston Celtics.. the game is being played in Orlando, one of my favorite places to catch a game and I believe the celtics are in some trouble.
The celtics have a hard enough time beating orlando with their whole team in tact, now their best player, and team captain, paul pierce is out for at least two weeks, I believe this team will struggle a lot without him . As I have always said, the type of 3 (Small Forward) a team has defines the type of team you have. Paul pierce is the epitome of the Celtics scheme, a well rounded, hard nosed, coachable player, which is the Motif the Celtics have built their last few years' successes on.
Tonight, Tony "no knee" allen is going to be guarding either Pietrus, or Vince Carter, both of which are going to be too physically big for him to hold. The celtics are also very weary in their bench's frontcourt, and will have a hard time with Brandon bass and Gortat coming off the bench. I look at this game as a blowout, but since its xmas lets just say

I think this game is going to be an exciting one, both teams at pretty much full strength, Kobe's team on a streak, Lebron's team finding themselves after a slow start, winning a couple big ones in a row.
Today will be a game of matchups. The lakers have 3, maybe even four individuals who can do a decent job on lebron. Lamar Odom, Ron Artest, Kobe, and perhaps even Sheldon Brown, are all around the right size and quickness to stay with the king (although primarily we will see artest.)
On the Flip side of the coin, the cavs have no answer for kobe other than lebron guarding him, which will keep the king at bay more that he had hoped for such a high profile game.
Look for the Lebrons to lose by 8 in this one.

Tonight there is a very big game in the NFL, the chargers vs Titans.
Vince Young has an opportunity to show how great of a player he really is tonight. Young having gone 7-1 since becoming the starter again, has only fallen to Payton Manning and the Undefeatable colts.
I am very impressed by San diego's ability to pull out wins, however, I am not convinced by the margin they are winning by. Last week they pulled out the win in a very close game with cin....
what scares me about that for the SD fans is that CIN is not a very explosive offensive team and tends to be more conservative. Tonight we are going to see a titans offense with 2 of the most athletic players in all of football, and a Coach that is itching to get back to the big game where he made his name known

Mizz has looked better in their more recent games while illinois has not done much to change their gameplan from the early season tournaments. look for a fiery mizz team to take the game here by 5.

West Virginia is a strong basketball program with something to prove this season. I just cant see Miss coming to play tonight against such a strong big east team. Expect a large margin here.

Everyone is high on Umass after their performance against Memphis team which is having a down year. Be that as it ma UMASS is going to get stomped tonight by a large margin, BC plays them every year, sometimes twice and knows their personell and strategy well.

The Utah Jazz are not fantastic on the road. But I believe tonight will be an exception. The heat Usually lose to teams that play the type of methodical offensive strategy undertaken by Jerry Sloan's JAZZ squad. The jazz players in the front court, namely Boozer, will be putting the hurt on the miami frontcourt, which is not built to play against heavyweights.
Milwaukee -7.5 V Washington*
Milwaukee is a well coached team which has a decent home record and a consistency to show up and cover the spread. Tonight will be no different as the bucks will simply outscore the wizards on the floor. The bucks' quickness and explosiveness is going to be far too much for even arenas and jamison to keep up with.
Denver-3.5 V Atlanta **
Well you can bet on this one to be exciting. I dont expect to see a ton of defense in this game . The Nuggets have dropped a couple games in the absence of chauncey billups, but expect Melo to make up for it tonight and get things in order for Denver to pull out the win. Atlanta is a good looking squad but I think the caliber of this western conference powerhouse will show at home.

Plain and simple. anyone who bets on them tonight.. good luck to you, I have not seen a team's offensive line play worse in years. They had one good run against the Boys, which i didnt see coming, but I will say this, is this not WASHINGTON's biggest and most publicized game of the season??

I believe Cin has been playing below their level of talent as of late and I think this will be a good test for their well rounded team.
Cin is too good of a team to get 6.5 and I think the bettors are taking too much from these recent wins that SD has compiled.
Today expect the bengals to play SD tough and get yards on the ground against a over hyped San Diego Squad whose best win in their last 6 was against Philly during their roughest streak.

NFL TONIGHT
Dallas +7.5 V NEW ORLEANS **
OK... SO ... CALL ME CRAZY.. but I think I gotta ride dallas tonight.. There is just too much propaganda out there about their late season, DECEMBER woes.
Plus, the saints dont seem to be interested in REALLY going 16-0... they say that, but I bet if they get a couple hard hits tonight you will see people getting subbed out earlier than expected.
Also, even more importantly.. Dallas does not play in many high scoring games and for some reason people seem to think they are a high powered offense.
UNDER 53.5 DALLAS V NEW ORLEANS **
I think dallas keeps this game close and they certainly cant score with the saints. Also, The boys have a very big and physical defense and I believe the size of the saints receivers plays a large part in their 3rd down game.
Gotta take the under here, too much of a propensity for it to hit to bet the over, I mean do you really expect to see another 40 -35 game for the saints?
OK... SO ... CALL ME CRAZY.. but I think I gotta ride dallas tonight.. There is just too much propaganda out there about their late season, DECEMBER woes.
Plus, the saints dont seem to be interested in REALLY going 16-0... they say that, but I bet if they get a couple hard hits tonight you will see people getting subbed out earlier than expected.
Also, even more importantly.. Dallas does not play in many high scoring games and for some reason people seem to think they are a high powered offense.

I think dallas keeps this game close and they certainly cant score with the saints. Also, The boys have a very big and physical defense and I believe the size of the saints receivers plays a large part in their 3rd down game.

Charlotte is especially good on defense this year, and the jazz tend not to show up in these type of games against mid road teams.

Tonight some of you may disagree with my picks but I think that we will be ok with these.
1)
Pho +1.5 V Portland**
This seems like the biggest sucker pick in the world. But i feel like Portland's D puts this line where it currently is. The problem with portland is, their bench players are hurt and so is their starting center. I think they have no answer for Amare and Channing Frye. despite my personal dislike of him, is playing out of control lately.
I think tonight the blazers stay in the first half and their bench does them in late in the game. The suns have all the ducks in a row tonight to continue their tear through the western conference.

The heat have zero chance in this game if they are planning on getting into a shootout with their cross state rivals. I think they will slow the ball down and look to be able to create some shots for dwayne wade. On paper it seems that the heat will get crushed, but I think their defense will show up enough to keep the magic under 100.
Beasely matches up well with lewis or carter, depending on what lineup each team is playing with. I think the heat might win this game 90 85 or someting around there.
3)FOOTBALL
So... do we take the bait and bet on the colts minus a minuscule 3 points?? or do we hope that the jaguars who played miserable offense against the injury plagued dolphins, somehow comeout tonight and decide to play playoff football..??
All kinds of questions... Does Manning play the whole game? does the line take the day off? do the jags win just to ruin the season?what to say what to do?
I think one thing is obvious. The Jags offense stinks. If they get anywhere on the colts it will be on the ground.. and honestly dont plan on that being your best bet..
I think the UNDER seemingly is the only viable choice..

NBA WEDNESDAY DEC 16
OKC +1.5 V DALLAS***
Let me say that first and foremost this has to be my favorite pick on the card. As a basketball guy, I think that OK City matches up extremely well with any lineup that the Mavs can put on the floor. The only player that scares me tonight is Drew Gooden, who is going to be tough to stop for OK City, but that being said, Drew Gooden should never score enough to do a good team in.
Green matches up very well with Nowitski, while marion is also no advantage to the young Virulent Kevin Durant, who last year was the league's second highest scorer.
The Backcourt for the Thunder is also a problem for Dallas as kidd will get worn out by Westbrook, and neither Terry nor Barea is going to be able to do much against sefalosha or harden.
OKC has lost its last two games to HIGH quality teams, Cleveland and Denver, and gave them both good games early and throughout the first half, the talent and coaching of those two teams did them in late, but also the size of both teams. Tonight the Thunder are going to be able to get a win on the floor and snap their losing streak at home vs a team who they can beat if they are able to dictate the pace of the game.
Dallas on the other hand, has won 4 straight, two games of which were by 1 point
(Suns and Bobcats) and is ripe for the picking. Their home stand was certainly effective and to some, even convincing, but i am not convinced.
NEXT PICK
New Jersey +8 V UTAH **
So The Nets havent won many games since getting their first, they have played just as disorganized as they were before their new coach showed up. So why bet on them tonight??
New Jersey is a talented team. They are short down low and do not get a ton of rebounds but Brooke Lopez is a good player who has realized he is going to have to score. Roberts has been playing hard all season even when the team was 0-18 he had 20+ that game. UTAH has been playing very back and fourth as of late, with an incredible inability to get their entire team to show up. Some nights boozer has 28 and the next guy in line has 12. They got crushed by the lakers in LA then beat the lakers and Orlando (who was tired) at home, but then lost to MINNESOTA? tonight they travel across the entire country.
Utah is terrible on the road, as is the trend with a lot of west coast teams. I expect them to lose on the floor tonight after seeing their record against bad teams I think they have a tendency not to show up sometimes. They may pull out a close win as they will need one with this being their 1st of 5 tough east coast road games, but i think Nj is obviously hungrier and has more to lose and will keep a contest.

OVER 210 HOUSTON V DENVER ***
Denver has been killing it at home lately, I believe they have only lost two games at home in their last 20 going all the way back to last season. Houston is a hot team right now, putting up a ton of points and effectively running the floor. The appearance of T MAC also gives them confidence that his full recovery is just around the corner. Im too scared to pick Houston again tonight, but what I will say is they will keep a good game with Denver and in order to do that, they will have to put up points Take THE OVER!!!!!!!

I like the Wizards over Sacramento. Sac has been playing very well as of late and looks to actually be on the track to the playoffs. However, I do not think they match up very well with Antawn Jamison and Gilbert Arenas. The wizards have been playing teams close lately and I think they look at sac as a team they SHOULD beat, which is a lot of the battle sometimes. Nocioni is NOT and I repeat NOT going to hold A JAMISON!! No F'in way... how about at the guard spot?? Dante Green? Down low?? Spencer Hawes?
Im sorry I know the Kings are on fire.. but I just dont see it tonight I think they get balled on .

TONIGHTS WEST COAST GAMES!!!
Houston -5 V Detroit.
Houston plays an uptempo style of game which is not far off where the pistons look to take their new personell, however I feel that Houston is a cohesive unit which will be ahead most of this game. Their lineup is defensively sound and likes to push the ball. Detroit is going to have a tough time with Ben Wallace in the middle trying to score with the rockets.
I think houston is winning this game late by around 3 or 4 and gets up to 7 with late fouls.

Tonight the Celtics streak will end. The grizzles dropped a game at home the other night that they should have won. I believe they will keep this game very close if not win on the floor. They match up pretty well If you look at it, OJ mayo is a good defensive match for ray allen, rudy Gay is a tall, long defender and will give a tired paul pierce a tough run for his money, and down low both randolph and Gasol match up well with the Celtics frontcourt.
People, I have seen the celtics LIVE many times this year, im telling you, be weary of betting on a team which has been on the road so much lately, they dont look as fantastic every night as they did in Chicago, I think Memphis catches them sleeping with a packed crowd!!

Denver will put up points but it wont be enough to carry this game to 100 a piece. I think OKC is tired and it seems they will not cover the 10.5 so they may get their asses handed to them tonight, something is fishy.
Perhaps the confidence is off after a harsh whippin against the CAVS, or maybe the whole bet is off because they will play well tonight and cause denver to play more Defense than usual, but I dont think this can really go over.

NFL SUNDAY NIGHT 8pm and NBA late
Looks like we are doing ok today so far... we will see how it all ends up ...

I firmly believe the Eagles are a far better team than the Giants. The giants need a win desperately yet its difficult to really see how they will pull this one off. Lets look at the facts.
The eagles are on a 3 game winning streak after dropping two in a row in a mid season slump. Their offense has been able to score late in games to keep them in, and they have played tough, close games against washington (who is obviously playing very well) and Chicago, which is not the toughest team but tends to be tough at home.
Their third win was a Destruction of ATLANTA, who kept an excellent game with the Saints today.
The giants on the other hand have won 2 of three, with wins over Atlanta by a small margin, and Dallas, who plain old stinks, especially on offense.
The eagles have the mental edge after punching the giants in the mouth during their 5 game skid.

The L.A. Clippers are going to beat the spurs tonight.
The clippers have been coming together now that guard Eric Gordon is back in the line up. Tonight their defensively sound front court is going to ware out the Spurs. Marcus Camby is going to clog up the middle and make it difficult for San Antonio to run their offense. Baron Davis and E gordon are going to give hell to Keith Bogans and Tony parker, who really arent very good on defense.
Watch for the clippers to keep this close then make a late game surge.

I firmly believe the Eagles are a far better team than the Giants. The giants need a win desperately yet its difficult to really see how they will pull this one off. Lets look at the facts.
The eagles are on a 3 game winning streak after dropping two in a row in a mid season slump. Their offense has been able to score late in games to keep them in, and they have played tough, close games against washington (who is obviously playing very well) and Chicago, which is not the toughest team but tends to be tough at home.
Their third win was a Destruction of ATLANTA, who kept an excellent game with the Saints today.
The giants on the other hand have won 2 of three, with wins over Atlanta by a small margin, and Dallas, who plain old stinks, especially on offense.
The eagles have the mental edge after punching the giants in the mouth during their 5 game skid.
Eagles -1 ***
NBA LATE
The L.A. Clippers are going to beat the spurs tonight.
The clippers have been coming together now that guard Eric Gordon is back in the line up. Tonight their defensively sound front court is going to ware out the Spurs. Marcus Camby is going to clog up the middle and make it difficult for San Antonio to run their offense. Baron Davis and E gordon are going to give hell to Keith Bogans and Tony parker, who really arent very good on defense.
Watch for the clippers to keep this close then make a late game surge.

Washington is going to put the smack down on oakland. I am aware that oakland is riding high after their victory over the steelers, but PEOPLE come the f on now, this is not 2008, the steelers have lost 5 games in a row, and the closest game they played was with their backup QB in, and it allowed them to put up points in a way that they cannot with their normal game plan.
As of late, Washington has been playing similar to the way we all thought they should the beginning of the season, and will be scoring a lot more than the hapless Steelers did last week.
Unless im missing something I cant see Washington lose this game here.
Also, one of the top cappers in New England, whose current record is 84-46 has the redskins money line and by the spread, so it reaffirmed my belief.

So, This is the second game of a six game home stand for the young bulls. The bulls are not doing as well this season as they would have anticipated and they will look at this game as an opportunity to get things straight against a Rival...

I know the cats dont score a ton, but i think they will outlast dallas tonight... look for a huge upset. dirk is going to have to play more d than he likes to, and the committee of guards for the mavericks are not going to hold jackson.

Most recently they took the Celtics to the wire and almost beat them in washington.
Tonight they will look to put the hurt on a weaker Indiana pacers, whose best player, Danny "the lone Ranger" granger is out till mid January with Plantar Fasciatus in his heel.
I think washington gets their heads straight tonight, the pacers have not looked good all season despite a few home wins they really struggling.

TONIGHT's NBA
Wizards +7 Vs Boston ***
Tonight the washington wizards are going to surprise the Boston Celtics, and the betting world. Washington is one of few teams who have been able to pull outright wins against top tier teams. Their starting lineup matches pretty well with the celtics, whose second unit has been playing like complete garbage. Also Antawn Jamison is going to have a night against pierce who, although he is a strong defensive player, is undersized against jamison. If Garnett Guards Jamison, he will be busy chasing him out to the three point line and stopping him off of screens all night.
Gilbert arenas will be ready to play tonight and rondo, although very difficult to handle on both sides of the ball, will have to play even better than he has in recent games to put the celtics over the top.
The only gap in Washington's starting lineup is Nick Young, who is clearly put in the game for defensive purposes. He will be glad to haunt Ray allen all game as the Celtics look pretty damn tired after their four game road trip, two days home and back on the road Again.

chicago will be determined to hold the resurging hawks to UNDER 100 as they were embarrassed by the NEW JERSEY NETS last night allowing them to score 103 puentos.
Chicago's youth is often their downfall but look for them to lose by about 9 tonight, something right under the backdoor. The bulls will hold the Hawks and the Hawks will not even need to hold the bulls as they clearly stop themselves on offense with their inability to shoot.
196 is not really that low of a number and neither of these teams really outmatches the other player for player.
MIL -4 V Toronto **
Milwaukee will look to make up for a lost opportunity against the Celtics in Boston the other night. the bucks played the C's hard all the way through to the fourth quarter and lost a 4 point lead with about 5 min to go to lose by 9. They did cover the spread, but as the bucks are looking this season to be a playoff team, they will look tonight to show their home fans that they are not an early season fluke.
Look for the bucks to score around 110 tonight on their home floor and put the hurt on the Craptors in the 3rd quarter.
Milwaukee needs this win to turn their luck around while two of their starters remain out. This is a much bigger game for the bucks and you can expect them to show up after having come so close to beating the leagues strongest team.

The nets are going to pull out another victory tonight. I believe that Chicago is a much better defensive team than Golden state and last night they put up 103 on the Bulls. The nets are fighting like a wounded animal, sick of being made fun of and sick of being mocked by their harsh NEW JERSEY and NEW YORK CITY fans.
Watch out for the nets. Meanwhile the Golden state warriors they have lost four in a row playing in Denver, then two home losses , then to OKLAHOMA for an ass whippin where they only put up 88, followed by tonight's voyage to New Jersey.
I think the Nets get 2 in a row..

Today's NBA TUESDAY
UNDER 191.5 ** Orlando V Clippers
Clippers +7 **
Orlando is at the tail end of a six game streak where 5 of their games have been on the road. They have played all over the map recently and are not going to score tonight like they usually do. The clippers are not the greatest defensive team, But they will be trying to get the tempo down due to their inability to keep up with Orlando in the Fullcourt game.
Expect the clippers to win on the floor and this to be one of the most boring games of the season.
Cleveland - 7 V Memphis ***
This line is deflated because of Memphis's Shalacking of Dallas the other night. The Grizz and their fans think this team is better than it is and on paper, dont get me wrong, they are very strong on both sides of the ball. Yet, there are two aspects that rarely show up in the stats in any sport.
1. Coaching
Mike Brown is a great player developer and very inventive coach. He thinks of many ways to keep his team fresh for each game and motivated. Memphis's Coach..Lionel hollins... well need I say more... who the hell is lionel hollins.
2. Crowd
The second aspect that we will not see on paper is the crowd...
This crowd in Memphis hasnt seen THE KING in a long time.. expect him to have the memphis crowd in awe of him instead of their home team... he is due for a 40+ night.

The celtics are on fire and milwaukee is fizzling on a losing road streak .
Look to the celtics to pour in on after sweeping four straight road games.

They are a pretty decent team to be honest, they have a good coach and their young Frontcourt puts up buckets when they have an opponent who cant keep up with their pace. The Kings have indeed won 4 in a row, which makes them one of the hottest teams in Basketball I do admit. The problem lies in who they have beat and not how many.
The Kings Competition as of late has been weak. And although they have been playing short handed in the backcourt, NO KEVIN MARTIN OR FRANCISCO GARCIA, which is admirable, they are going to get crushed by the SUNS, who will be intent this evening on proving to their home crowd that they still deserve to be in the conversation of the most elite teams in the game..
if not.. then you might see SACRAMENTO in the playoffs... but I just dont see it with who they beat i mean here it is for you

The celtics are looking fantastic as of late. As I have been saying all season Kendrick Perkins is learning how to be a REAL threat in the post and a lot of this has as much to do with GARNETT's ABSENCE last year as it does with his PRESENCE this year. That and the fact that the celtics have a new big man coach added recently who has been working with Perk.Combine that with San Antonio's inability to play for an entire game, and their weak Frontcourt (no offense But Duncan is on his way out..)
Also I am a firm believer in taking a look at what sort of competition the team has been playing prior to their matchup with an elite team. The Spurs have won 5 straight against bum teams, 3 of which have sub 500 records the other two are Houston and Milwaukee (who is actually a lil better than average.)
The celtics are going to thrust and bust all over the slow Spurs team whose bench is also not as deep as boston.
Looking on the other hand , the celtics have not had the ROUGHEST go at it, however they did Beat MIAMI at in MIAMI and a tough tough Charlotte team which they smacked in their crib.
The celtics boast their own 5 gamer coming into san antonio and I think they win tonight 100- 88
