Golden State -7.5

Golden State has covered ONE TIME as a favorite this year (-3.5 V Portland) and they are laying 7.5? I will take that all day considering their competition and the way the kings have played as of late. I also think matchup wise the Kings will have a hard time with the warriors back court. really surprised to see the percentages so even in this contest with this line.
Memphis +1.5

Memphis has to show some face after their recent performances and I feel that denver is ripe for the picking after a very poor defensive showing vs the clippers two nights ago. Memphis can spread the floor and attack the middle to get open shots on the perimeter and I feel they will play with a vengeance tonight. The oddsmakers either agree with me or they have me completely fooled.
Charlotte +12.5 V La Lakers

Lakers Are very tough down low and charlotte is lacking in the paint. But I think the lakers will be a bit tired and less motivated than the bobcats, and also I believe the disadvantage for the lakers at the 1 spot is just as large if not greater than their advantage in the paint. I think this will be a 10 point game.

Cleveland won, but as a clevland backer last game I can tell you that they certainly looked sheepish at points especially in the third quarter. I think this goes over easily as the projected totals have been misleading as of late.

Pistons are not a terrible match up for the sixers, their guard play can be very similar at times on offense and I think although Iggie is going to go off on Tayshawn the Pistons are very well rested going into a tired philly. They could catch back door here .

I truly like the Kings athleticism down low in this game and I also think evans will cause a stir vs Utah's guards. Kings can definitely keep this close I think the line is inflated cuz of utah's home court .

Suns lose 3 straight and get slapped like they stole something last night and now they are playing one of the hottest teams in the nba and only catching 4? I think the suns matchup well down low with Gasol. Gortat is one of the best post defenders in basketball and I think he surprises people with his ability to score and move without the ball on offense. He may get the Memphis big men in foul trouble if they can get him the ball in the right spots. Lets see what nash has left in the tank tonight... this is a much bigger game for the suns.

Seems like the celtics, despite having bad year, are pretty consistent when it comes to playing teams a second and third time. The one thing about this game though is a lack of Ray Allen. Allen really spreads the floor for the c's and brings the tempo up for both teams. I think that The Magic will pull away in the second half. This was one of the toughest games to cap all season and i almost did not pull the trigger, but O'neal being banged up is really what pushed me to do it. I think Dwight has figured out that his best way to get out of orlando is to play well there and tonight would be a very good game to play well. There is a lot of public money going out on Orlando this season, but this game people HAVE TO BE taking Celtics +10, and I don't blame them, but I think vegas hits the nail on the head. ORLANDO 95-84.

These guys are definitely tired, but these two teams are the type to choose offense and leave little in the tank for defense. The Grizz have had a little trouble with the last two teams they played but Portland and Golden State not only match up well with Memphis but have been playing solid D vs most NBA teams.
Tired or not, This total is marginally high considering the totals we have seen in these two teams respective games, and I think that the fact that everyone knows its the Clippers 2nd game in a row and the Grizz 3rd game in 4 nights makes people automatically think under. And in most situations that logic would work, but not tonight.

Call me crazy but I think teams are starting to figure out that the best way to deal with jordan is to not let him come from the weak side to block shots. Teams such as minnesota have had success with mediocre centers by giving them the ball and making jordan play on the ball defense. If successful tonight he will have 4 fouls early in the second half.

These players are human, if you stick them in an uncomfortable situation there is only so much they can handle before they lose by 25 one night or another, but the fact that their favored by 5 says it all. I will roll with the boilermakers in an High scoring effort tonight. 72-65 Purdue wins.

Both of these teams have played UNDER basketball as of late, but both have the shooters and overall capability to put up points. This game is going over in my opinion because sometimes when two tired teams play you get very few points, in this situation I feel as if we will get very many, lack of defense and shot blocking for both teams when tired.

Memphis exerted a lot of energy last night in a comeback win against Golden state on their floor, now they head to portland. portland is deep at the 4 and 5 and i think it will be tough for memphis to generate offense in the paint in the half court set. I also think memphis is just going to be tired. Portland is also tired having played many games in the last week, and I think they will play conservative ball to try and get a home win against the grizz.

Houston can play a zone if they need to . But they won't need to if Dalembert shows up, Darko is toast. Scola will take his match up vs Kevin Love (aka the best power forward in the NBA) and he will play hard for sure.
Bottom line is Houston's guards score a lot of points, houston can play right along side minnesota in the uptempo game, and minnesota's lack of shooting might keep them from being able to keep up with houston's up tempo offense.

I hope I didn't catch this line a half a point too late. If you remember last year, the mavs were a bit deeper than they are this year. And they got slapped around without dirk for many consecutive games. With this year's more veteran bench I expect less of a drop off , but a hungry team like the suns who are starting to click is what I like to see against a confused dallas team that doesn't know where its offense is going to come from.

I think this total of 191 is completely undershot. These two teams are loving the under this year and vegas knew the over was going to hit tonight. This second half should be no different. Rubio has 3 fouls so he will play even less D then he is used to. If you look at it minnesota is an under team against shit teams and an over team against the better teams because they let up 45-55 a half against the good squads.

Miami has proven themselves to be a high scoring team no matter their roster. I know that there is no one to guard kobe, but perhaps a combination of battier and lebron will do the trick. I do know that the lakers are coming a very long way, and this line has not budged despite talks of a sick lebron and the public is all over the Road dog.

The nuggets have played very well in their back to backs this year and they have also played well as an underdog. I think that the sixers are a pretty deep and well coached team, but I am not convinced they can lay this many points to the better teams in the league. I know the nuggets are on a back to back but i think that Denver can score with the sixers and with all the lines they have covered lately i am certainly willing to put my money on the nuggets getting the job done. The one area i am mainly concerned with is the SF position because I think Iggie has a very big offensive advantage over Gallinari, but that being said, i think the Nuggets will make him shoot the outside jumper. There is also a good matchup for Denver with Nene, I believe he will lock down Brand in the early going and give denver a chance to stay in the game until half, where they can try to reassess their approach. I don't do money line but i think this line should be more like 76ers -3.

Terk can't keep with Jefferson in the post, Nelson can't guard parker, parker can't guard anyone. Neal plays no d in the open court so J Rich and JJ should get shots. No one to stop howard, and I have a feeling that there will be more HACKA-HOWARD going on so that extends the length of the game and puts the team in the penalty very early on.

They are on a back to back against another high paced team. I know that Orlando is having problems, but these guys are professionals and they pay for their pay check each night. I liked the knicks at first glance just on the match up, then I saw that this is not only a back to back but actually philly's third game in a row, and tonight they are playing a much more talented team than they were last night. The clipper should be well rested, having only played 6 games, yet this seems to be a detriment to them against some of the better teams. The only 2 times this season that the Clippers were a significant underdog (i.e. more than 1 point!) they have lost ATS and gotten handled on the court.
I think portland will have a bit of a mismatch with the Clippers front court, but they can do a few things. They can go zone, take camby out and go small and offensive, with wallace or batum at the four.
They can also have aldridge switch and have the more disciplined camby play against griffin. I am sure aldridge will play him a few possessions but the real mismatch comes at the 2 spot.
Who the hell is going to guard wesley matthews or jamal crawford? Chauncey?
Foye is a hell of an offensive weapon but I doubt he can handle either of those guys.

Westbrook turns the ball over as many times as he assists it, and I think their options are very limited for a backup in those instances where Westbrook is out of control .

Not only were the raptors playing many games in a row in their last 5. They played a few high paced teams back to back to back, including the knicks, magic, and then the surprisingly high scoring cavaliers.
The T wolves are going through a similar stretch. They are playing a back to back tonight, they are on the road, this is their 5th game in seven days, and they are playing a toronto team which is in a good position for a bounce back after having been embarrassed the other night. Toronto does not match up incredibly well with minnesota, but they can certainly score the rock, especially at home, and their up and down style will have the t wolves tired. The wolves play ZERO Defense as it is, and I think toronto takes this one in a close game, 101-96.

Hawks look very good this year dont they? Well I think personally this is a let down game for the hawks. Similar to last week when we took the suns vs portland, I see here that New Jersey desperately needs a win, and can keep this one close at the very least. Atlanta has defeated some of the leagues best and they are a very feared team at this juncture, but despite the mass love fest of Jeff Teague, I am not convinced quite yet by this lineup. I think Al Horford has problems against larger centers, I think Josh Smith shows up when he wants to, and frankly I am not impressed by Stackhouse, Pargo , or Radmanovich as the bench pieces, but I will say that Radmanovich has been excellent on offense of late.
That being said the last game these two played ATL won by 7. Now they are full of momentum and playing again, and the line is smaller. Take what you want from it, I think D. Will has 25 tonight.

Tyrus Thomas is athletic, but there is no way in Gods name he is going to hang with amare, banged up or not. Finally, Chandler is not going to have any trouble with Boris Diaw. But what the Cats may do is try to take chandler out of the game by leaving Diaw around the 3 point line. Which will open lanes and make NYK go small..
I know the line is dropping and thats not my style but I been doin well so I had to play this one the way I saw it.

The spurs are a whole different team on the road. Popovich knows he will have to score a lot of points tonight because they honestly cant stop Denver's interior attack. If Denver is shooting well, these two teams could easily put up 100 a piece. San antonio's offense is a nightmare for slower post players such as mozgov, and on the flip side, duncan cant guard either the 4 or 5 for Denver.
Plus these two teams SHOULD have a low total like everyone else because of all the games they have played, but I think this total is telling us there will be some points in this contest.

The spurs are a whole different team on the road. Popovich knows he will have to score a lot of points tonight because they honestly cant stop Denver's interior attack. If Denver is shooting well, these two teams could easily put up 100 a piece. San antonio's offense is a nightmare for slower post players such as mozgov, and on the flip side, duncan cant guard either the 4 or 5 for Denver.
Plus these two teams SHOULD have a low total like everyone else because of all the games they have played, but I think this total is telling us there will be some points in this contest.

Aside from the fishy line, there is only one spot on the floor that is really a disadvantage for the suns and that is the SF position. they are just a bit undersized and I worry about Batum and wallace posting up. However, the suns GM did a good job of giving his team multiple servicemen at each position, so you could see any of 4 guys rotating there at the 3.
I think gortat and lopez vs the two old men for portland on a back to back is a nightmare.
This is also portlands first true back to back test as they played 2 games to open the season, but I think the fact of having played 4 games in 6 days changes the meaning of a back to back. also because their first one was against sacramento.
Expect the suns to come in fired up, they are 2-4 vs a 5-1 team that took out the lakers last night.
and if they dont, someone is getting the boot, I promise, whether its nash or the coach or somebody.

The bobcats have no playmaker to really speak of aside from kemba walker. The hawks went into triple OT last night and it was the first and only time all year a team has scored 100 on them. The cats do not have the best defensive interior, but I also think the hawks will be allowed to shoot after their recent schedule..

Is this risky, well kinda. But here is the deal. The pacers have a ton of motivation in this game. They thought they were hot shit until the shit stomping they just got in miami. Now they play boston who fucked them up several times last year, and they do so with a much more dynamic front court.
Indiana could easily win this game if they can get out of the funk they were in last game, and they probably will bounce back tonight. Granger needs to step up, hibbert is a tough matchup for o neal, and I think indiana's guards can man up with ray and rondo..

The success the nuggets have had is primarily due to their ability to have a very large lineup that can also shoot. NENE can play both the 4 and 5, but when the lineup has nene at the four and mozgov at the five the team has two very solid post players, almost like a high school prep team.
They can post on both sides and have excellent shooters such as fernandez, galinari and afflalo.
The key to beating this team is going to be a few things and I think the line is telling me they are likely to happen.
The Hornets need to possess the ball, thats obvious.
They also need to make sure their substitutions are spot on, what I mean by this is landry is a better matchup for harrington than he is for NeNe. So this is going to sacrifice some of the only consistent offense that the hornets get.
Kaman is going to have to matchup at times with Mozgov, and okeafor with nene, or vise versa, but if it all leads where I think its going, this game is going to be slightly under 190.
Both teams are playing their 4th game in 5 days, the hornets cannot shoot, and they are solid on D. The line is short so it looks as if it will be a bit closer than the average joe would think.

Warriors v spurs
Golden State +7.5 V Spurs

GSW have a tough match up indeed with San Antonio, but the bottom line here is that Golden State has a 25 game losing streak to san antonio and with no manu, monta ellis playing for his dear old grandma, and the warriors newfound defensive scheme I think this is a great game to fade the spurs.
Ellis averages over 18 vs San Antonio
Manu averages over 20 vs GSW (out for tonight)
David Lee will be trouble for the Spurs front line,
Brown should come in to help give some fouls on blair and outsize him.

The hungriest team I have ever seen. They have gaps in their lineup, but chalmers is hitting shots and cole is pretty explosive.
I think it will be impossible to beat these guys in a seven game series IF they have no injuries or media quarrels.

Kobe is a closer, always has been, and he is performing through injury, through trade through adversity. Mike Brown is also very determined to prove himself with this team, if steve blake keeps playing well this is going to be a tough team to knock out.

Mavs don't look like it right now, but they are a top contender for sure. Notice the correlation between these top teams. Closer, hall of famer, high point scoring all star that can create his own offense. The addition of lamar is big, I look to see the mavs get another center to takeover for haywood.

Lets address the low line first. Memphis scored 64 points against chicago, which was about 20 points lower than anyone expected, but with the loss of Arthur for the season, the Grizz are one bench player away from a solid rotation.
Tonight will be very little D on both sides of the floor. Cousins should be back in the lineup at some point and I think he might be over aggressive on both ends. I think the kings have proven that they can score, and the grizz are not too deep at the 1, so I think that the kings offense can get going. First game of a roadie for the kings after they played 3 at home, and I think they score 94 points to go well with the grizz 98 points.

Now they are playing one of the best defensive teams in the country after not having played a game since DEC 22. Cal SLO will definitely try to take the air out of the ball and the fact that their favored is telling me the game will be slow paced.
